At Kincaid, we believe that furniture should be enjoyed. And that it should handle life's spills and keep on performing. That was the genesis for why we developed Kinguard Performance finishes and fabrics.
Kinguard Performance Wood Finish
All Kincaid solid wood dining tables feature the Kinguard performance finish. In the wood finish application, Kinguard is a special lacquer topcoat that is hardened and creates a more sealed surface. This added protection is designed to allow a little more time to clean up spills before the wood or finish beneath is damaged. Think of it like a clear coat on a new car; it won't keep rocks from chipping/scratching the paint, but it can prevent stains from setting in as long as they aren't ignored.
Kinguard Performance Fabrics
Certain Kincaid fabrics feature the Kinguard performance standards. We organize our Kinguard performance fabrics into two categories: Kinguard Performance and Sunbrella.
- Kinguard Performance Fabrics are fabrics whose wearability and cleanability are designed to withstand high-traffic residential applications. These fabrics are also designed to be more stain resistant and offer enhanced finishes that inherently repel spills. Please refer to the cleaning code on each fabric for specific cleanability. And visit our furniture care page for some tips on how to keep your furniture looking great.
- Sunbrella fabrics are made by one of our partner fabric mills here in the Carolinas. These fabrics take performance one step further by adding additional cleanability properties as well as industry leading colorfast properties. These are ideal for use on furniture that will receive heavy amounts of sunlight. Kincaid offers dozens of in stock Sunbrella patterns as well as full access to additional Sunbrella special order fabric books. More information can be found on the Sunbrella website for full details on their warranty and cleaning suggestions.
